In the last 6 months Lois has become a little obsessed with fan making.
Fan making is a critically endangered craft on the Red List of endangered crafts. Lois’s new collection of one-off hand fans, often investigate issues around the menopause and mental health.
Lois plays with and celebrates traditional historic fan techniques and methods from around the world, creating folding fans, Cocade fans and fixed fans from silk, paper and re-used materials, these are embroidered, folded, decorated works of art, hopefully bringing a bit of comfort and joy.
